2012 was an amazing year at SEOmoz. We grew tremendously in members, revenue, and employees; finally raised a second round of funding; added a number of great features to our product; and acquired three companies. Today, we're thrilled to officially announce our third acquisition and the opening of our Portland office, as well as release our 2012 financials and growth data!

This past Wednesday, October 3rd, Moz invaded Milwaukee for a Mozcation. Our gratious host, Kyle Faber from Regal Creative helped set us up at that Harley Davidson Musuem and show us the best beer.
Google announced an "upcoming" algorithm change targeting low-quality Exact-Match Domains on 9/28. Data from MozCast indicated the change did hit on 9/28 - I break down the data, along with some of the sites impacted.
The Google algorithm is too complicated to be understood in just one number, so we're happy to announce five new "top view" metrics on MozCast, including: Domain Diversity, SERP Count, EMD Influence, PMD Influence, and the "Big 10" domains.
The Big Data Team at Moz has had one of the hardest periods to date producing an index (and we've had some nightmarish doozies in the past). In June, after our funding from Foundry & Ignition, we started running 4 simultaneous indices on Amazon while also starting to set up our new hybrid (our processing and Amazon storage) cloud data center in Virginia.
