If you've been hesitant to start on a global site strategy, the obstacle standing in your way may be nothing more than a myth. Kaitlin McMichael explains the most common misconceptions in international SEO and what you really need to do to harness the power of the international market.
I grew up in Santa Barbara, California, and moved to Seattle in 2005. Before joining Getty, I specialized in SEO at Portent in Seattle. Previous to joining Portent, I was the marketing manager for a South American travel company. While working in the travel industry, I had the chance to work in Lima, Peru, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have a graduate certificate in Advanced Interactive Marketing from the University of Washington, and am certified in Google Analytics. I have written on marketing, travel, and music & arts for dozens of websites and magazines. When not working, I like hiking, biking, and reading.
I also have my own SEO marketing consulting business, http://www.kateideas.com.
