Thanks Mike - very helpful! I think it could very well be that outtage - by the time we were made aware, the client had access again. None of the admins had received a page removal notice - but we were on extra alert due to some spammy complaints filed recently. Much appreciated for your prompt response. The page is fully accessible again.

Hello. I'm working with a very reputable company - and their Facebook page has completely disappeared. Yesterday, a random visitor flagged a couple posts as abusive, and today the page is gone. Some sort of negative social tactic.

Has anyone experienced this and is there a way to recover? Is there a way to have Facebook reinstate the page? Thanks for any guidance you can provide!

Hello - I'm working with a client who has a complete Google+ Brand profile setup for their business, but cannot locate the google+ login associated with the management duties of that page. Is there a way to track down or at least to see who the page owner is and their associated email address?

Did some more research - answered my own question (but feel free to interject if you think I'm wrong).

Google Local is still the best route to verify locations/brands - so in my case I think that's the route I'm going.

In the event a Dr. would want to setup a business page for themselves - they could do it and claim/verify the Google Local listing which already exists.

I presume Google will continue to make this process easier...

I've been running this over for awhile - so I'm curious to see what the community says about it.

I'm working with a client who would like to brand the doctors in their hospitals. Many of them do have recognition already - and their associated locations have profiles. Google Local semi-recently said it's OK to brand Dr's names - even if they exist within a single location.

So, my question is - is it better to go the Google Local route and create the Local/+ page for them, or to go through the Google+/Google Brand Pages route and create them that way?

If each doctor were to decide, individually, to post on their page - would that be possible with the Places route (I don't think so, based on what I've seen)?

Also, if a doctor already has a personal Google+ page - would it make sense to just create the additional brand page as well through this interface?

Well either of these methods achieve optimal visibility as well as the option to post should they decide to go that route?

What it boils down to - is this is a task we can perform from the outside, or is it best handled by giving the doctors best practice for setting up their personal Google+ pages and associated Brand Pages themselves?

Yes, I agree - we're all definitely concerned about losing that local traffic - even if the branding is outdated. In most cases, their attempts at branding the services of the locations have proven unsuccessful (in terms of uploading into the Google Local Listings - and they haven't attempted local for Bing/Yahoo or any of the the other smaller sites for any of their locations) so we're optimistic that for most locations we should only see an improvement.

I appreciate your thorough response and will read the resources you've provided.

In your opinion - is there a point, say of visibility and traffic - where it simply doesn't make sense to change branding online? In the 'real world' changes to these brands have and are occurring...is there ever a point where it's simply inadvisable to change online local? Seems like a strange question, but given the visibility concerns you're stating, is there a point where we should just advise against it? We weren't on board to consult about rebranding - and in this situation, I don't think it could've been prevented anyway (acquisitions and the associated re branding). You're left with lots of strong brands, that aren't valid anymore - but the traffic is real? I find myself wanting to create the best long term scenario possible, but is this a bad idea in this case?

I'm working with a client who has some transitioning brands - and they're hesitant to change the legacy branding in Google Local and on their website because they're afraid of losing traffic from the old brand.

Is there a standard practice for keeping traffic on the old brand terms, while still adjusting to the new branding on Google/Yahoo/Bing?

I'm glad I'm not researching a question that's already been readily answered :).

I appreciate your suggestions and will try to follow up here as I find solutions.

There are lots of other internal branding issues as well that have to be ironed out before promoting the locations across the Internet - ones that I am encountering now.

Ultimately, I may have to clear the account, including the verified pages/account, and start from a fresh upload.

Would either of you happen to know, if I choose to delist an approved, visible location within my Google Places dashboard - one that is receiving traffic but should still have some information updated, and then I use the upload function to re-populate my entire dashboard with the CORRECT data I'd like verified for ALL locations...are there any implications to this? I'm assuming, since some of the originals were done in Google Local - I may lose things like reviews? Or will Google be able to unify the places internally after the upload is approved?

I'm currently updating over 100 places in Google Local Listings

They have approximately 300 listings already in the account, with approx. 100 of them already verified.

The amount of 'True' locations is around 130.

In order to provide maximum,  appropriate NAP data, I need to update the 100 as well.

So, my question is in multiple parts -

1. How do I override and update the current locations in bulk? It doesn't appear that there's a way. Every time I upload a datafeed, it gets a new listing.

2. Because of all the listings in various states of verification, (Over 200), is there an easy way just to clear them out that's NOT manual?

3. Is there a way to export all CURRENT locations? The datafeed download only contains items which are trying to be updated..there doesn't appear to be a way to export all current data.
