Online marketers are anxious to see how the recently announced Google Penguin 2.0 update will impact their website marketing. For people who don’t closely follow Google’s algorithm updates, Penguin updates look for unnatural link patterns that might be a signal of inappropriate SEO tactics. In my opinion, the guidance that Google provides around big updates is vague and difficult to interpret. As a result, many bloggers fan the flames by being deliberately provocative, trying to create a sense of panic and alarm to get attention. Creating panic around a Google update is pretty easy to do.

Anyone that has worked in SEO in any capacity knows that it's a complex business and you learn something new just about every day. But the ultimate SEO goal is easily defined: improved search rankings. It's challenging and somewhat frustrating because of the unknowns of search engines (alright...Google). But at my firm, we have an extremely fine-tuned SEO process that works for us and for our SEO resellers.
Mr. Hill has over ten years of experience in online acquisition marketing and product development. Mr. Hill has industry experience working with financial services, media, technology and local service businesses. Prior to co-founding HubShout, Mr. Hill created CyberCMO, an online consulting firm. Prior to founding CyberCMO, Mr. Hill served as a Business Development Director at America Online where he managed and marketed several premium service businesses. Mr. Hill also worked in product management at FOLIOfn Investments, Intuit and the financial services group at American Management Systems.
Mr. Hill holds a BA with honors from the University of Florida and MBA with honors from Georgetown University.
