I was speaking with a potential client the other day who is currently using another companies service for their web development and SEO. Over the course of the last 6 months of this year they have seen a steady decline in traffic and...

Ok, some of you may have heard this statement before from your mother, girlfriend, wife, co-worker, etc. But I think it’s an important lesson that needs to be stated again, and in my opinion has many implications for the SEO/SEM environment as well.

Why is it that SEO is so hard to sell or explain? This question is something that pops up in blogs and in general conversation almost daily in our industry. Could it be that it’s the name that scares people off? I mean let’s look at what SEO is at the very basic level:

**Please note I have no affiliation with Inc Magazine or their website. I read the article while waiting to get a haircut at my local barber.
I recently read an article in Inc Magazine titled "Improving Your Sense of Site," which focused on ways in which your analytics can show you how to increase sales. It was a great article and worth the read (gave me some great ideas), but one thing stuck out and I thought was worth discussing. Being that I am mostly on the business development/sales side of things, I hear a lot of the concerns, questions, thoughts, etc from our clients. Whether you are starting a new company or branching out into a new service, you don't have a track record so how do you co...

This somewhat of a follow up to my last post about "Fear of Saying No!". I realized after re-reading my post that perhaps there is a fear of saying no because people don't know how to say it without offending the would-be client. So this post is going to discuss some of the ways that I feel are appropriate ways to tell a client no, but thank you at the same time.First off, ...

Over the years I have noticed that the companies I've worked for have been afraid to say no. No to what you might ask? No to work that they either don't have room for, can't do or just doesn't fit within the niche that they've made for themselves.I've heard this saying over and over "Don't ever say no, take the work and you'll figure out how to get it...
