How can this website be ranking so well?!
-
This website:
http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/domains?site=www.webuycarsyourway.com.au
is ranking on page one for about 75% of a list of 300 car related keywords.
They don't appear to have done any link building, no social media, appeared out of nowhere in April 2012 and SEMRush reports between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors per month.
The only thing I can see is they have a landing page for every keyword with the keyword in the URL. But surely that can't be the only reason they're ranking well ? ?

Inchcape is a six billion dollar a year business with thousands of websites. They are obviously linking in ways we can't see - possibly database redirects, instead of actual links. Either way, it's passing juice. They could have just 301'd a few good pages to it, as well
I would guess it's something like this:
http://www.seomoz.org/q/can-t-for-the-life-of-me-figure-out-how-this-is-possible-any-ideas
Although they have thousands of sites so I haven't found the actual redirect code this time.
Hope that helps.

Selling on eBay and Amazon, does it have a negative impact our your website?
_We sell on multiple platforms I.e own website, eBay, Amazon and have noticed over the last few years to hold a page 1 ranking on Google is becoming more and more difficult as the SERPs are saturated with the big brands. _ My question is, we've loaded all of our products and there lovely unique descriptions to eBay and Amazon, is there any chance that this content is helping eBay and Amazon rank (may be not by much!), but certainly not doing us any favours. As effectively why would you show our site in the search results for a product range, when all of the content/products already appear on eBay/Amazon which is several SERPs places higher? Is Google not inclined to think, "hey no need to show x site, as the content is already features on Amazon, why show it twice?" Any one have any thoughts?

Pre Launch New Website SEO Best Practices
Hi All, I am currently mid development of a website (no testing page yet) and want to make sure I am doing my due diligence in regards to SEO. Are there best practices to always complete while a website is being built? If so what are they? I've gotten to the stage where I've read every blog on the planet and now maybe too much info. I am also focusing my Keyword Analysis around competitor research to write great copy from, but seem to be falling down a rabbit hole of way too many keywords. Is there agencies/services that would just be hired to do Keyword Research for my needs? Thanks a lot!

Looking for a recommendation for a site ranking comparison tool.
Hi, It seems that SEOMOZ provides only link ranking comparison with competators. I'm not conviced that this is valuable for my purposes as the comeption often has few links tool, probably the nature of the business.. First, is it worth trying to compare keyword ranking with competators? I think it is, but I'm not that experienced with SEO, especially with Wordpress/Buddpress sites. Second, any recommenations for a tool that will make this easier? Larry

How to track competitor who uses another website on the url?
Hi everyone, The thing is pretty simple: I have a competitor who uses a different format of url, very similar to this: www.example.com - but he started to use a thing like this: example.mtv.com The problem is that every analysis that I make tell me something about mtv.com instead of the site I want. The url is redirected. Sorry about my english, but I think it is very clear. I want to know how to track something like this, because even in competitor analysis I'm getting info about the big site, and not the one I need. Thank you very much.

Wondering why my site ranks well for one page and not another.
Customers mainly find our site from searching very specific part numbers on google. My site is launch3telecom.com. Take for example these two parts:

MT500A-81015 MR050-81045 Search only those parts in google - we rank 3rd for one of them and don't rank at all for another. Is there any way to check backlinks pointing to those pages? We even show up before big sites like ebay and such on one of them. Can anyone help me understand this?0 -
How can I find the pages on my site with the highest page rank?
I have a lot pages on my site and I'm wondering if there is a tool out there that will find all the pages with the highest pagerank for me? Also, it would be helpful to find that on competitors sites as well. Any ideas?

How to calculate the most powerful websites in my industry?
Hi, I would like to do some research and put together a post on the most powerful websites in my industry, and was wondering if you have any advice on how to calculate this - or if there is a tool available? Rather than making assumptions, I would like to try and be as accurate as possible. Thanks in advance for suggestions.
