Moz AI
Moz AI is a family of features you’ll see expand over time. Although Moz has leveraged natural language processing (NLP) and other machine learning techniques in its tools and metrics for many years, these features will make use of recent advancements in AI technology. In particular, we hope to empower and assist SEOs, not replace them.
From today you’ll see this identifier in Domain Overview, where we’re adding elements to let you quickly assess the topic and purpose of a domain at a glance — ideal for competitor analysis or prospecting.
You’ll also see the Moz AI identifier next to Search Intent, in the Keyword Suggestions tool. This is a new data point that allows you to quickly see the dominant search intents — whether it be informational, commercial, transactional, or navigational — of any keyword, or indeed many keywords, at a glance.
Explore by Keyword
The Explore by Keyword report allows you to learn everything you could possibly want to know about a particular search term of interest. This is now improved by a totally overhauled user experience — which, in time, you’ll be seeing across the entirety of Moz Pro. At the same time, we’ve added a wealth of new information that wasn’t previously included here:
- Minimum Domain Authority of the top 10 organic results and Keyword Difficulty, so you can understand how much effort might be required to rank.
- SERP Analysis, so you can scope out the competition without having to leave the page.
- Search Intent — as noted above — so you can see what kind of content is likely to do well here.
Moz API beta endpoints
The Moz API has been an industry staple for over 15 years. It’s now more accessible than ever, with an entry price of just $5 with no overage charges — meaning anyone can level up their SEO data without having to worry about a thing. From the $20 subscription level and up, you’ll also get access to a veritable smorgasbord of new beta endpoints:
- Keyword Suggestions — enter a keyword (and other parameters), get more suggestions
- Keyword metrics — all the data points you know and love from Keyword Explorer
- Ranking keywords — enter a site, and see what keywords it ranks for
- Search Intent — enter a keyword, receive the dominant intent
- Brand AuthorityTM — Moz’s newest authority metric
All-new STAT UI
STAT's venerable UI has gotten a thoroughly modern overhaul. Redesigned data visualizations draw your attention to the metrics that matter most, helping you better understand and tell the stories in your data. Simplified navigation, streamlined, consistent workflows, and enhanced accessibility deliver an improved user experience and increase discoverability in STAT’s data-dense platform — so you can move from insight to action more quickly. While the UI is new, you can count on the same level of accuracy, flexibility, and scalability that STAT is known for.

The precision & accuracy of enterprise-level SERP data is now in Moz Pro
To ensure you always have the most accurate data on hand, we’re delighted to announce the launch of a major upgrade to the ranking data and SERP analytics delivered in Moz Pro.
Starting today, we’ll begin rolling out the same systems that run our powerful enterprise SERP tracking solution, STAT Search Analytics. Known for its precision and accuracy since 2009, STAT has the most comprehensive SERP feature tracking catalog on the market and a team dedicated to keeping pace with Google’s frequent updates.
Now, no matter your Moz Pro subscription, you’ll have enterprise-level quality and reliability.
What does this upgrade mean for me?
Our newly refined parsers bring more accuracy to your rankings and a greater degree of granularity to the SERP feature information you see.
As a result, you’ll have a better understanding of where you and your competitors sit in the SERPs, as well as the content formats that Google prefers to see — so you can make more strategic optimizations across the board.
For example, thanks to this upgrade and our improvements to the SERP Analysis section of our Explore by Keyword tool, you can now see the appearance of the local pack and People Also Ask (PAA) SERP features among the top three organic results for the keyword “coffee,” including specific details about those features, such as the questions and ranking URLs within the PAA.
Where will I see this new data?
This powerful new upgrade will be available everywhere in Moz Pro that shows SERP features, ranking data, or metrics that use ranking data in their calculations.
This includes (but is not limited to) features within Campaigns, Keyword Research, Rank Checker, and even MozCast.
How will this change impact my data and reporting?
As these new systems roll out over the next two weeks, hitting different areas of Moz Pro at different times, you may notice slight fluctuations in your data.
But fret not! Once these updates are done rolling out for each section, it will mark the start of improved accuracy in your data.
As always, we’re committed to empowering you with the best tools and data to help you succeed in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
Now go explore your expanded SERP feature data in the new SERP Analysis!

Meet our newest Moz Metric, Brand Authority
Brand AuthorityTM is a Moz-exclusive metric that measures a domain’s total brand strength on a scale of 1-100.
Search engines use discrete methods to model the real world in search. This makes it hard to disentangle the relationship between brand strength and search engine results. Luckily, Brand Authority gives you clarity. Get the insight you need to help inform your brand awareness strategy and maximize its impact.
Learn more on our Brand Authority page or visit our help hub to see how you can start using it today.
You can now integrate GA4 reporting with Moz Pro

Be sure to make the transition before Google retires Universal Analytics on July 1, 2023 (except for Google 360 customers). Once you have a GA4 you can connect it to your Moz Pro account. We've created this handy Help Hub article to guide you through the transition.
Domain Overview in Moz Pro
Moz Pro has released an all-in-one solution for effortless SEO tracking and analysis. With Domain Overview, it’s now easier than ever to:
|
Subfolder search capabilities now in Moz Pro
A subfolder, also known as a subdirectory, is a way of organizing the pages on your website. Subfolders can be thought of as a way to divide up information or products, depending on your business and are especially helpful if you work in ecommerce, retails or on various different product niches. A subfolder can be a blog, a product category, an Etsy store, and more! To learn about subfolders check out Daily SEO Fix: Exploring Subfolder Search with Moz Pro.
Subfolder search capabilities and subfolder data are now available in:
True Competitor: Cut out the manual effort and save tons of time as Moz Pro helps you identify your truest competitors
Keyword Gap: Craft a targeted approach to overtaking your various different SERP competitors by identifying your subfolder’s keyword gaps.
Explore by Site: Streamline workflows and save time by gathering real time keyword data for your subfolders.
Competitive Research Suite: Pinpoint your top competitors & keyword opportunities
If you’ve ever wanted to identify your true SERP competitors, see top competitive metrics to help you size up the competition, and understand a comparative analysis for content opportunities – look no further! Our new Competitive Research Suite combines the power of our True Competitor and Keyword Gap tools to help you do just that.
True Competitor takes a look at a top set of 500 SERPs that your site is ranking on and provides you with a list of the top 25 competitors based on the domain or subdomain that you input. You’ll see Domain Authority, along with two new metrics: Overlap and Rivalry. Overlap looks at the percentage of ranking keywords that you both rank for. Rivalry looks into your site’s DA, the DA of your competitor, keyword overlap, keyword volume, and your rankings to help pinpoint your top competitors.
Once you’ve checked out your primary competitors, you can choose up to three to compare and analyze in Keyword Gap. Keyword Gap shows you where you’re winning and losing, where there’s still a chance to catch up to your fiercest competitors, and where you might want to try to compete in a different way.
You’ll see a comparison table with some familiar metrics: Ranking Keywords, Top Positions, Page Authority, and Domain Authority. You can also tab over to Ranking Overview to take a closer look at ranking keyword positions.
Next up, you’ll note the Keywords to Improve table, built to help you spot keyword opportunities. By default you’ll be shown the top keywords that your competitors are ranking for that you’re also ranking for; to check out net-new keyword opportunities, you can also filter by 51+ to see keywords you’re not yet ranking for. Alongside your rankings and your competitors’ rankings, you’ll recognize Volume and Difficulty scores from Keyword Explorer. We’ve also got another fresh new metric to love: Traffic Lift.
Traffic Lift represents the expected gain in traffic if the primary domain overtakes the top identified competitor’s ranking position. The table is sorted in descending order of Traffic Lift, with the keywords at the top being the ones that you’d see the most traffic (and in turn, most ROI) for.
The final table you’ll see is Top Competing Content, where you can dig into the pages (and content) that are performing well for the competition. The tool will display those top URLs and top keywords that those pages are ranking for allowing you to pinpoint targets for closer analysis.
Get started with the Competitive Research Suite today to pinpoint your true SERP competitors and spot opportunities for both your keyword and content strategies and head on over to the Help Hub if you'd like to learn more and see a step-by-step guide to using this powerful new toolset.
Performance Metrics now included in Campaign Dashboard & Insights
Back in January 2022, we moved our Performance Metrics Suite out of beta and into a full feature, allowing users to automatically track hundreds of URLs for Core Web Vitals and spot-check important URLs on-demand.
Since then, we’ve been working hard on providing Moz Pro customers more value when it comes to understanding Core Web Vitals and overall site performance. That’s why we’re excited to announce – we’ve included Performance Metrics summaries within the Campaign Dashboard and Insights tabs!
Within Moz Pro's Campaign Dashboard, you can easily understand how your most important pages are performing week over week with the Historical Performance Scores chart. You can also see your overall performance scores for your Tracked URLs on both mobile and desktop, as well as a breakdown of how many pages fall within the critical, needing improvement, or looking good categories.
In Moz Pro's Campaign Insights, you can quickly see an overview of your Tracked URLs performance on both mobile and desktop, and which pages have the greatest decrease or increase in scores to help inform prioritization decisions.
Please note: In order to see these modules within the Dashboard and Insights tab, you must have Tracked URLs set up. If you haven’t started tracking, head to the Performance Metrics feature now.
And if you've opted into Moz Pro emails, you’ll get weekly performance updates of your Tracked URLs sent directly to your inbox within the Moz Pro Insights email. Notice a change in scores that need attention? Quickly click through from the email to our Performance Metrics feature to dive deeper.
