  • I like the 3 organic traffic metrics in SEOmoz PRO: 1) Organic Search Visits
    2) URLs Receiving Entrances Via Search
    3) Non-Paid Keywords Sending Search Visits They rock - especially for a high-level view of SEO / Organic performance. Is it possible to setup these metrics as custom reports directly in Analytics? Does anyone have these reports setup? Or maybe there are similar custom reports that give a similar high-level view?

  • My campaign report says I have a 404 error for a sub page located at domain/products/contact.aspx My contact page is not in the /products directory so what I'm wondering is if this means that somewhere on a site I have a link pointed to /products/contact.aspx.  I've looked everywhere and cannot find the link if it is out there somewhere.

  • I'm a new user to SEOMoz Pro, and having created a number of campaigns I wanted to know if you can set / schedule when SEOMoz crawls your website? Ideally I want to prevent SEOMoz from crawling my site at certain times, but I can't seem to find a way of doing this. Thanks in advance.

  • This week I've been diving into competitive research again for several clients in different industries, and unless the data in Open Site Explorer is wrong, it really does appear that Google continues to reward sites with unnatural links in certain industries, especially industries that are less tech-savvy (agriculture, finance, manual labor). I've combed through all the links carefully, to ensure there aren't some secret high-quality links lurking, and for some of these sites that are showing up in the top ten for search they do not even one real, high-quality link. Also, their onsite optimization is often way over the top and the user experience is nothing less than nauseating. Could it be a MozScape issue, or does Google continue to reward terrible sites and link structures in certain industries? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

  • How can I see all my on-page grading reports for page grading optimization that decreased for the worse from last week - so as to know which pages to fix? My mozpro email report indicates only ten of them decreased from Grad B to C etc from last week. As I have just migrated to a new cms, I need to find and bring back to grade all effected pages. I can't find how to view historical page grades - just for last weeks. Any ideas anyone? Thanks!

  • Hi there I am running three campaings for three different sites. The first site crawl is successful with a ful report. However the other two only shows results for the homepage, i.e. only a single page crawled by the mozbot. What could be the reason for this? Thanks, Gerrie

  • Hi, I currently run a website and have added a couple of new categories lately. The website is Planes Trains Automobiles Co UK. For example I want to add "Planes for sale" as a new category. What is the best way to go about this? Will each aircraft added add content therefore ranking? I don't want to approach an SEO company yet as the service would be free for the time being? Thanks

  • I have a website that is www.example.com. When I first setup my campaign in SEOMoz, I missed the instructions that stated I need to set up my domain as it appeared in the browser. Thus, I set it up as example.com. When I realized my mistake, I setup a second campaign as www.example.com and am running them side by side to see the differences. My question has to do with the best setup. I have a blog that is a subdomain as blog.example.com. It appears that the www.example.com campaign is not crawling the blog pages but example.com is. Are there any downsides in setting up this campaign as example.com? I have a number of other sites with the same issue so would like to get this resolved before I setup the additional sites. Thanks for any assistance or insights into ways I may be "shooting myself in the foot" with the wrong domain structure in my campaign settings.

  • Hello all, I'm fairly new here, more of a paid search guy dabbling in SEO on the side. I have a client that I have in SEOMoz and the Crawl Diagnostics report is showing 10,000+ pages crawled and I think the site has at most 800 pages (e-commerce site using freewebstore.org as the platform). Any reasons this would be happening?

They have tick boxes next to them and you can filter them but SEO moz is not automtically creating grade reports? Any ideas? Obviously I've set it up wrong somehow.

  • I have been noticing that the Rankings listed in the emails are far different from the ones in my report once I log in. Any idea what this is about? Often the rankings in the email are much better then in the report. And I am talking about on the same day as the email was sent out, not a week later.

  • Hi Does anyone know the best way of determining good links from bad links using the SEO Moz tools? I bought some directory links to two or three pages on my site a few years back. The were all very obviously spammy because of the anchor text and I didn't have a high enough ratio of good links to counteract them. I read somewhere that if more than 10% of the links to a page have the same (or similar) anchor text, it's obvious that you're on the bad list.

  • The weekly ranking data is great for short-term analysis, but it would be great to be able to see ranking data in aggregate across an entire month, or 3-month time span. Being able to track ranking fluctuations over that amount of time makes it easier to spot trends and mark changes to website plans and how they worked over time. It also makes it easier to spot visitor trends based on rankings with Google Analytics numbers for keywords that don't get a lot of traffic on a weekly basis. Anyways, I can't seem to find any way to see ranking numbers over a larger timespan other than exporting each weekly ranking report and doing it manually. Is there a better way that I just haven't seen? Does anyone have a better solution that I'm just too stupid to think of? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Hi (What happened to the User Voice feedback in PRO campaign reports? Another cutback because of scalability?) I'm getting sent here for Help on the reports It's Friday morning here in France ; I'm preparing a meeting with a client and as part of this I want their Rankings Report from the campaing I set up for them month's ago Half the keywords are showing up as "SAT" ; the message at the top says "Your keywords are updated weekly on Saturday. The last update was January 26th, 2013" They're not new keywords, if I click on them I get historic data up untill January 19th I'm guessing you had a problem on January 26th but why not put January 19th rankings rather than SAT ? The report is now useless. Here's the url if useful http://pro.seomoz.org/campaigns/54444/rankings Neil

  • When I add meta data and a canonical reference to my blog tags for my on-site blog which works using a wordpress.org template, Roger generates errors of duplicate content. How can I avoid this problem? I want to use up to 5 tags per post, with the same canonical reference and each campaign scan generates errors/warnings for me!

  • I'm new to SEO Moz, but not to SEO. I like SEOMoz's keyword rankings, but I also like to show clients improvement (hopefully) from the previous months' ranks. The default appears to be 1-week. How can you show improvement/decline from the previous month?

  • I ask because I am getting errors based on URLs that do not even exist on our site.  For example:  http://www.robots.com/applications/abb/panasonic/robots this URL does not even exist for our site, but somehow it is listed in the error section of page title duplication tool.  http://www.robots.com/applications/ exists, but there is no place to get to an ABB or a Panasonic robot from this page, not to mention an ABB/Panasonic (which for sure does not exist).  ?? We have quite a few of these out there and just wondering how to find out where the link is coming from.  When we checked our URLs through Integrity, links like the one listed above (which we had 29 of them listed) that do not show up. Thoughts?  Thanks! Janelle

  • Since going to a wordpress platform in November,  I have seen many 501 server errors in the crawl report. When I click on the link in the report however, the link shows the actual page with no errors. I reviewed all the Q&A but didn't see anything related to this issue. Does anyone have an idea as to why the actual link works when I click on it but the SEOMOZ crawl bot is showing a 5XX error. Thanks for any ideas or feedback you may have.

  • I signed up yesterday. Added 4 sites. The one I really need data on now has only had 1 page crawled. The other sites have had almost all pages crawled (over 40 each) in one day. What is wrong? The main domain has a 301 redirect to another domain name is that the problem? Is there something wrong at Google analytics? I dont manage this site and I'm picking up behind another firm..where should I start my discovery? Thanks so much!

  • Hey all, Recently my site has seen a rise in 5xx errors which have all popped up since the first of the year. Our company made a big announcement on 1/4 which drove a lot of traffic to the site, which I thought may be a reason for the sudden errors.  But the errors have since continued. Also, the crawl from last week showed no errors at all (which I'm sure was a fluke) Taking a closer look in GA, the pages that are receiving errors have not been visited for months. Is this a random occurrence or should I consult someone to investigate our server? Thanks,
    Chris

  • I just noticed that right around 12/1/2012, SEOMoz stopped crawling all but two pages out of the 400 or so on my website at www.TrustworthyCare.com .  I speculate that this is probably due to some dumb mistake I made at that time, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that mistake was.  Before that, the weekly crawls included all 400 or so pages. I wonder whether it's something that changed in our .htaccess file.  Here's how that file looks now; can anyone see what is wrong there, or perhaps offer other suggestions if it doesn't look like anything is wrong in it? Thanks! Tim PS - I'm a small business owner, not an SEO or software engineer. PPS - I found and read this page, but I've pretty much tried the things described there (I think): https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/409821-why-isn-t-my-site-being-crawled-you-re-not-crawling-all-my-pages ================================= RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^aservantsheartcare.com$ • We have just sorted a couple of issues on the website which threw the crawl into spasm and gave us hundreds of hugely long URLs. We are pretty sure that we have corrected this and do not want to wait another week to check what SEOMOZ comes up with. Is there anyway that we can request a special crawl of the website so that we can hopefully just be left any legitimate remaining issues?

The Moz extension for Google Chrome is a big help while doing link prospecting, competitor research, etc. The two parts that really help me with that is the MozBar button for quick stats and how SERPs have domain data, etc, etc, under each result. The issue, however, is that the SERP control panel is dead smack in my way... Its one of those things thats been bothering me for months but dealt with. Is there a way to permanently keep it closed? Here is an image for reference - http://i.imgur.com/9ruJHHc.png -> "SERP control panel" is whats bothersome. Thanks, James

  • Just wondering if any of the Moz team can give us a heads up when open site explorer will support HTTPS?

  • When i decide if a paid directory is worth listing in, do i look at the page where my link will be placed and judge it based on how many incoming links that page has, or looking at the page rank, or looking at the mozrank? Or is it just the overall rank of the home page of the directory?  I notice that page rank gets less and less the deeper you go into a directory until the pages are unranked.  Does that mean that the page is not crawled by google, or is considered an irrelevant page and would not be worth paying for a link there? Also, how many pages deep into the directory is too deep to mess with?  Also what are some good directories that offer deep links?   I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts.... Thanks in advance! Ron

  • I'm running an SEOMoz campaign for a small site to monitor some tweaks I've made and testing new things out. Over a year or so the changes were great - organic traffic was rising, domain metrics were too.  Then in October 2012 domain trust, Moztrust and all other link metrics went to zero.  There's no data in OSE for this particular small site and as far as I can tell, no impact on search.  The limited number of inbound links all appear to be intact and there's no reason why the site would be hit by Panda/Penguin style updates. Why has this sudden loss of data occurred?  Is the site no longer in SEOMoz's databases?  Without any link data it's difficult to tell why this has happened. If it is no longer in the Moz database, how do I get it back - that data was useful!

  • My site is: www.thetravelingdutchman.com. It has quite a few pages, but for some reason SEOMoz only crawls one. Please advise. Thanks, Jasper

  • Last year we bought the videos of presentations on MozCon 2011. They seemed to be disappeared now. Is there a possibility to still watch them?

  • If I search Google for my site using my mobile internet provider I get different results from my main internet. Before anyone suggests it, it's nothing to do with saved searches as I'm clearing cookies and I've tried on multiple different platforms. I can plug my iPad and use my wireless, it's my normal rankings, but as soon as I switch to my mobile provider for internet, I'm 3rd instead of 2nd on the SERPs. Any ideas?

  • Hi, I would like to add some competitor websites to my campaign, to compare against my website. When when I click 'Add competitor' and then add the competitor I get the error, ' I am not allowed to add paths' For example, my main competitor is www.maincompetitor.com and the page within his website that ranks above me for one specific keyword is www.maincompetitor.com/greenbananas But this URL I am not allowed to enter as a competitor. How can I check/compare pages? Why can I not do this? Just a couple of simple questions 🙂
