Overview

With your Links API access, you have access to both V1 and V2 of the Moz Links API. You are able to use your same access credentials (Access ID and Secret Key) for both instances of the Links API and both versions follow the same pricing and subscription model of rows/month.

In this guide we will outline the differences between the 2 instances of the Moz Links API in order to help you decide which of these will work better for you and your needs.

Links API V2

Links API V2 is the most recent version of the Moz Links API. Some key features of this version are:

Links API V1

Links API V1 is the older instance of the Moz Links API. Some key features and things to note about this version are:

  • Endpoints use the base URL of http://lsapi.seomoz.com/linkscape

  • Requires signed authentication

  • Some endpoints return deprecated data points - deprecated data points are noted in the supplemental documentation as [deprecated]

  • Some endpoints require the use of cols parameters to specify which metrics to return

  • Free API access is limited to only certain endpoints and data points
