What’s covered?

In this guide, you’ll learn more about Templates and how to create them in the Location section of your Moz Local account.

Getting started

Templates make responding to reviews and other engagements with your brand easier than ever. Within Moz Local, you can create multiple templates and organize them within libraries to make it easy for you and your team to find and use them to respond to engagements within the platform.

You can access the Templates view and your libraries at the locations level and the account level (for customers managing multiple locations).

From the location view, you will see only template libraries and templates available to the specific location you’re viewing.

To create a new template library, click Create Library at the top right of the screen. This will open a window where you can add in your template library details and grant access to location groups. To create your library:

  1. Enter the name of your library

  2. Share your library with location groups

  3. Select the access level for the groups with access

  4. Click Create

Create or edit a template

Once a library has been created, you can start adding templates using the New Template button.

When creating your template, you can add the following information:

  • Template Name — Use this field to name your template. This field is also known as the tags for your template and will be displayed in your library. You can enter a new tag or select an existing one from the drop-down menu. Tags can help you sort and filter your templates, making it easier to find the ones you need.

  • Template Text — You can enter in any text you’d like for the message of your template. This is the response that would populate to send to customers when the template is applied.

    • Localize — Use the Localize dropdown to insert dynamic text (e.g., %Community Name). These dynamic fields will update automatically based on the location using the template and pull in key, localized information for easy customization.

Just a reminder — Templates can be used for both Reviews and Engagements so be sure to draft and tag them clearly.

If you ever need to edit a template, you can do so at any time by clicking the pencil icon to the right. This will open up the template window where you can edit and save as needed.
