In this guide, you’ll learn more about the New Moz Local, including how to get started and answers to questions you may have about the change.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When will I have access to the new platform?
    • Most existing customers will have access by December 3, 2024.

  • Do I need to do anything to get access to the new platform?
    • No, the change will happen automatically. All you need to do is log in. 

  • After the launch of the new Moz Local, will I need to reconnect my social profiles?
  • Will my pricing change?
    • No, existing customers will not see a change in price at the time of launch. If pricing is set to change in the future, you will be notified by email prior to the change. Please note: Any newly purchased locations will be at the pricing outlined on our Moz Local pricing page. 

  • What directories are included with the new Moz Local?
  • I had images added to my location profile in the old Moz Local interface but I’m not seeing them in the new platform — why not?
    • To reduce the risk of duplicating photos within your Google Business Profile and Facebook listing during the reauthorization process, your photos will not be automatically added to your location profile. Don’t worry! We have a step-by-step guide below to help you get those re-added.

Getting started with the new platform — existing Moz Local customers

If you purchased a Moz Local subscription prior to December 2, 2024 your in-app experience will be automatically updated to the new Moz Local without any action on your part. However, there are a few steps we highly recommend you take to ensure you get the most out of the tool moving forward.

Priority tasks

The following tasks are ones we consider “Must dos” and should be at the top of your list.

  1. Reconnect Google Business Profile — In order for Moz Local to continue to push updates to Google Business Profile on your behalf and for you to monitor and reply to reviews within the platform, you will need to reauthorize Moz Local to access your Google account.   2. Reconnect Facebook — To allow Moz Local to continue pushing updates to Facebook on your behalf and to enable social posting for Facebook, you will need to reauthorize access for Moz Local. Learn more about connecting Facebook to Moz Local.

  3. Review your location profiles and fill in any empty fields — As with any update, we want to make sure everything updates correctly! Please take a moment to review your location data to ensure everything is accurate. Consider filling in any new fields or empty fields to ensure your profile is as complete as possible. Learn more about editing your location details.

  4. Check your images tab — Once you have access to the new Moz Local interface, please review the photos in your images tab. If you need to re-add photos, please see our instructions below. 

Next steps

Once you’ve completed the priority tasks listed above, we recommend moving on to the below actions.

  1. If your subscription includes review management, connect your other review networks to your Moz Local locations.

  2. Set up GeoRank and Rank Tracking for your account and locations.

  3. Enable notifications so you receive emails regarding new reviews and engagements.

  4. If your subscription includes social media management, link your social accounts to your Moz Local locations so you can start scheduling social posts and monitoring engagement.

  5. Set up your reviews widget to start getting more reviews.

Add images to your new Moz Local profile — existing Moz Local customers

To reduce the risk of duplicating photos within your Google Business Profile and Facebook listing during the reauthorization process, your photos will not be automatically added to your location profile within the new Moz Local interface. Don’t worry! Simply follow the steps below to get those re-added to your profile and submitted to your networks.

 

  1. Connect Facebook and/or Google Business Profile via OAuth

  2. Navigate to the location you want to edit

  3. Click the pencil on the top right

  1. Navigate to the Images tab within your location’s profile
  2. If you have connected Facebook and/or Google, any images found in your listings on those platforms will be populated in the Network Specific section of the Images tab. Images can be saved and downloaded to your computer from here.

  1. Click the image you’d like to download, right-click, and select Save image as…

  1. Upload your downloaded images to the All Networks section to publish to all of your connected networks

    • If you’d like the same images to be published across all connected networks, make sure to delete any duplicate images under the Network Specific

    • If you have images specific to Facebook and/or Google, make sure to include those only in the Network Specific section

Getting started with the new platform — new Moz Local customers

If you purchased a Moz Local subscription after December 2, 2024 you will automatically have access to the new Moz Local and all the features included in your subscription. Below are a few steps we highly recommend you take to ensure you get the most out of the tool.

Priority tasks

The following tasks are ones we consider “Must dos” that should be at the top of your list.

  1. Fill in your location profile with as much information as you can — Start by filling in the required fields like your NAP details, category, internal name, and location remote ID.   2. Connect Google Business Profile — In order for Moz Local to continue to push updates to Google Business Profile on your behalf and for you to monitor and reply to reviews within the platform, you will need to authorize Moz Local to access your Google account.   3. Connect Facebook — To allow Moz Local to continue pushing updates to Facebook on your behalf and to enable social posting for Facebook, you will need to authorize access for Moz Local.  Learn more about connecting Facebook to Moz Local.
